Mission statement for “Keeping Children and Youth Safe”
The Diocese is dedicated to insuring a culture of safe and respectful conduct in all ministries of the Diocese of Fort Worth, enhancing and protecting the dignity and trust of all God’s people.
The Diocesan Safe environment program includes:
- Training for all volunteers regarding the dynamics of abuse and abuse-prevention strategies
one “live” training class and then online renewal every 3 years
see the bulletin for calendar of classes - Evaluation of the backgrounds of all employees and volunteers
- Review and sign the Code of Conduct and Standards of Behavior
Requirements for New Volunteers:
Attendance at a Safe Environment Session
Complete a volunteer application (including references)
Sign a Conduct and Standards of Behavior
Complete the Authorization for Release of Information (background check and/or credit check, driving check)
Reference Check
Train in your specific ministry
Requirements for Teen Volunteers:
Attend and participate in the Teen Safe Environment Program
Complete a Volunteer Application (including references)
Sign a code of Conduct and Standards of Behavior
